SDL acquiring TRADOS:
At the end of this past week was the announcement that SDL
will acquire TRADOS. That will especially have impact in the area of
Translation Memory (TM) tools and the services provided around them as they plan
to continue with both TM product lines for a while. To see if this refocus
will affect the Transcend/AutoTrans MT product line offered by SDL.
LionBridge acquiring BowneGlobal:
Then just now the announcement that LionBridge plans to acquire
BowneGlobal.
A few video clips by the LionBridge CEO to different audiences at the
LionBridge web site main page (http://www.lionbridge.com/)
BowneGlobal MT technology (an acquisition from recent years) is
embedded within MT products that are currently offered by (at least) two
different MT software providers.
