Dear MA: The corpus you choose depends on what you would like to find out about the system. For example I once used 'real' text, because I wanted to find out about the 'usability' of MT in a real environment (and because time and money where limited, to be honest :-)).
Of course you might be planning a very specific type of system evaluation?
