The deadline for registering for NIST Open MT08 is approaching. The
last day to register is January 10 2008. (If you have already
registered, please disregard this e-mail.)

- Evaluation period: January 28 - February 1, 2008
- Workshop: March 27-28, 2008 in Arlington VA
Tasks include text-to-text translation of the following language pairs:
- Arabic-to-English (with new Progress test option)
- Chinese-to-English (with new Progress test option)
- English-to-Chinese
- Urdu-to-English

Note that only registered participants are eligible to receive MT08
training data under MT08 licensing conditions from the LDC. Also, you
can only receive data for the language(s) that you registered for.
Please consider signing up for the human assessments, which are
volunteer-based this year. Only systems from sites that explicitly
register for the human assessments can be included in the human
assessments. The human assessments registration form can be found here:
