We search for a partner to participate in the project proposal for the research program "EEA -Romanian Research Programe" (http://www.forskningsradet.no/en/Romania/1253989090974 ). Few words about this program: - Period: 2009-2014 - Target: To reduce the economical and social differences in European Economical Space and to consolidate the bilateral relations by improving the cooperation in the field of research between the scientific communities from Romania, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein and also by stimulating the long term cooperation by creating partnerships between research entities. - Deadline for the proposal: January 17, 2014 - Duration of a project: max 3 years (until April 2017) - Max budget of a project: 500,000 - 1,500,000 EUR Who we are: - We are a Romanian research company named "SC SOFTWIN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SRL" (www.softwinresearch.ro<http://www.softwinresearch.ro> ) separated from the company SOFTWIN (www.softwin.ro<http://www.softwin.ro> ) in 2011. - We are involved in NLP - Natural Language processing. What we realized so far (in the field of NLP): - We developed a meta language GRAALAN (Grammar Abstract Language) (http://www.softwinresearch.ro/publications/NaturalLanguagUnderstanding3.pdf , http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?pid=S1870-90442008000200002&script=sci_arttext, http://www.softwinresearch.ro/publications/GRAALAN.pdf ) that can be used for linguistic description of a language (alphabet, syllabification rules, morphology, inflection rules, inflection forms, syntax rules, lexicon) and of the correspondences between two languages. - We implemented the tools that can be used with GRAALAN description of a language. - We realized the description of the Romanian language (and partially of the English language) using GRAALAN. What are our intentions: - We want to propose a project with (temporary) name: GILPROT (General Integrated Language Proofing Tools) - The main functions of the GILPROT: a1) A desktop application for GILPROT that will have the following functionalities embedded: Grammar checker, Spell checker, Inflection, Morphological Analysis, Syntactic Analysis, Synthetic Dependency Tree Visualization, Analytical Dependency Tree Visualization, Thesaurus, Phonetic transcription, Hyphenation, Lemmatization, Diacritical checking/correction, Document indexing (by lexicon relations, paradigmatic, semantic), Document search (simple, by lexicon relations, paradigmatic, semantic). a2) A web application for GILPPROT; a3) A plug-in for Microsoft Office that allows embedding some proofing tools for GILPROT. What the partner will realize: - The partner in the project proposal must be interested in describing using GRAALAN of its language. We offer the documentation and the software tools. - The partner will implement the Proofing tools for its language under the framework that we realized. - The partner will make detailed tests for its implementation. - According to program rules, the partner must be from Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.
