CALL FOR PAPERS
***********************************************************************
The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in
techniques for adapting texts to the needs for various users and NLP
applications. This includes studies of end users' needs for text
adaptation, techniques for automatic text adaptation, user evaluation of
adapted texts, and infrastructure for conducting research on text
adaptation.
We invite the text adaptation community and researchers and practitioners
working on generating texts tailored to populations with specific needs.
Examples of these include text simplification, as well as adaptation to the
needs of second-language learners, and relevant applications from other
areas such as machine translation, information extraction, virtual
assistants, and accessibility research.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Topics include but are not limited to the following:
Models for text adaptation
Corpora for text adaptation
Evaluation of text adaptation
Measuring text complexity
Generating simple texts from textual data
Lexical simplification
Syntactic simplification
Discourse and simplification
Text adaptation for machine translation
Text adaptation for information extraction
Evaluation procedures in text adaptation

SUBMISSION
***********************************************************************
Submissions may have a maximum length of eight (8) pages for long papers
and four (4) pages for short papers, with unlimited pages for references.
All papers should be formatted following the guidelines of the main
conference, see Author Instructions (https://inlg2018.uvt.nl/call-
for-papers/), and should not include authors' names or any other
identifying information.
The submissions will be reviewed by at least 3 independent reviewers.
