Registration for the IARPA/NIST OpenCLIR Machine Translation Challenge Closes August 20th
The OpenCLIR (Open Cross Language Information Retrieval) challenge is open to all, and registration is soon closing. For those of you who would like to register to participate, please visit the following page that provides background on the challenge, the evaluation plan, and a link to registration: https://www.nist.gov/itl/iad/mig/openclir-evaluation The goal of the OpenCLIR evaluation is to develop methods to locate text and speech content in a variety of genres from lower-resource languages, using English queries. Registrants may join the text track, speech track or both. The OpenCLIR challenge was developed out of IARPA's MATERIAL program, but incorporates a simpler, smaller scale evaluation. Feel free to spread the word to interested NLP practitioners! Carl Carl Rubino, Ph.D. Program Manager, IARPA MS-3E109; 301-851-7563
