Open postdoc position in Neural Speech Translation at LIUM, Le Mans, France
Context: The computer science laboratory of the University of Le Mans (LIUM

up-to-one year postdoc on end-to-end speech translation for low resource
languages (Tamasheq, Pashto) in the framework of the ON-TRAC

Topics of interest (but not limited to) :
— End-to-end neural speech translation
— Supervised/self-supervised training and adaptation
In addition, the job includes the organisation of and participation to the next
IWSLT shared task on low resource Speech Translation
<https://iwslt.org/2021/low-resource> evaluation campaign.
Prerequisites: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical
modelling, deep learning, speech and language processing and machine
translation. Several years of experience in using UNIX environments, including
the standard script and programming languages (shell, Python) is a necessary
condition.
Technical information: The research is supported by a large computing cluster
owned by our group. The working language is English and/or French.
Salary: This position is funded 45k€ (> 2100€ net salary per month), which is
confortable since the average cost of a flat in Le Mans is around 500€ per
month.
