Region: Eastern Highway(s): 401 Reason: is closed east bound from Colborne to Brighton, to allow removal of a tractor trailer from the ditch and other vehicles to be removed from the median. The closure is expected to last until 14:00 this afternoon. The patrols are assisted by Ontario Provincial Police. Detour: traffic will be getting of at Percy Street (Big Apple) travel south bound to county road 2, travel east until they reach county road 30 where they will then travel north to re-enter highway 401 in Brighton. We ask the motoring public to evaluate the need to travel on Ontario highways today as road crews and emergency services are still cleaning up from Saturday's storm. The highway 401 will be closed intermittently as emergency services and road crews deal with this incident. Hhighway 401 in this area is heavily snow packed and slippery.
