Perhaps at some point during their lifetime, the drafts are not valid
messages; or perhaps emacs puts backup files in the directory. Hard to
say -- can you see the exact files offlineimap is complaining about?

A work-around would be to exclude the drafts directory from what you
sync with offlineimap.
