mu4e:compose is mode derived from good-old message-mode, and they should be mostly compatible. The mu4e org-mode support did some trick like you describe to switch between org-mode and compose mode, but there are a bunch of corner cases; IOW, YMMV. Cheers, Dirk. -- Dirk-Jan C.
