I have this issue as well. It happens when Z coordinate of area that is being shown is different then 0, it seems. When changing area name to area which locations are elevated (z != 0) map centers on 0, 0, 0 and shows nothing. When switching to area where locations are on z = 0 it centers fine and show locations correctly.
