Add the Mudlet PPA, and it will be fixed. Getting anything fixed in a Ubuntu package is monumental and a time- lengthy effort. They unfortunately didn't sync latest Mudlet from Debian, where I think it is fixed (or it's not and we have to wait on it to be fixed there as well).
