While I don't remember the details, those reports are a fact. One person
supplied somewhat extensive and allegedly reproducible information - and
it's either on lp or the forums. Anyways, what happened was that by
using the delete profile button some other profile than the intended one
got wiped out (probably the previously selected one if there is no
current selection and the button is being pressed, something non
standard like this, but I don't remember).

There were data loss issues due to a profile not loading fully because it
didn't properly serialize all characters, bu that is a profile
serialization issue, not a profile deletion one.
