It may be we can mark this as invalid but it does happen in some "modes" of operation which IMO we don't handle very well. I guess this is intrinsic in that we "have to"(?) operate in buffered line by line mode but is that entirely true? I think I've already confessed that some aspects of how the telnet protocol handles echoing of characters seem to me to be more confusing than they first appear. 8-/
