I never stated that we should sell Veron. I've actually been one of his stanchest defenders throughout his time at United. My point about, keeping him out of the Arsenal clash, is that he seems to play a h*..of a lot better in CL matches -- in fact, puts in some world class performances in Europe -- yet does not show his best in domestic competition, and especially against our more bitter, and more competitive, rivals. We can speculate as to why this is the case: feeling the pressure from the "supporters", media criticism, not adapting well to the English style of play, etc. The point is that it does make sense playing him in a matches, of such high stakes, and making him even more suseptible to media, and so-called supporters, flak, and in the process diminishing his confidence even further, when we could instead opt for players that have more experience, and have a better success rate, in the domestic league.
