Do you think Forlan would have acheived what he has if it weren't for the fans getting behind him? I can't recall any of the supporters in my branch ever criticizing Forlan the way they have consistenly, and unrelentlessly criticized Veron! Nor am I of the opinion that Veron has been all that bad for us. He seems to be at his worst when a) he plays alongside becks, perhaps because becks like to take charge of the mid-field or b)when we play against a stronger domestic league opponent. Also, when Veron does makes mistakes, they are usually howlers. At the same time, when Veron does play well, it is usually exceptionally well. So, you could look at it from both angles.
