Trezeguet in quit threat

Trezeguet was Serie A's top scorer last season
Juventus striker David Trezeguet could be on his way to Barcelona
after he threatened to quit the Italian champions if they did not
offer him more money.
The 25-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with the Turin
giants in the summer of 2000, is believed to be unhappy with his
current deal.

Trezeguet reportedly earns 1.3m euros (850,000) a year, but wants an
increase in salary to bring him in line with Serie A's other top
earners.

"I am one of the strikers of international level with the lowest
wage," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"At Juventus they told me to prove what I was worth and then we would
talk.

"I was the highest goalscorer in Serie A last season with 24 goals
but we have not spoken. If this does not happen we will go our own
way."

According to press reports, Barcelona are preparing a move for the
French marksman, who starred for France in the 1998 World Cup and
Euro 2000 winning sides.

French sports daily L'Equipe said the forward's representatives are
due to meet with Barcelona directors next week.
