4-1
A couple of pens from Ruud, free-kick from Becks, and chip from
Scholesie.

It's not often you get an uncomfortable 4-1 win but this was one. For
the first 30 minutes, it was men against boys and we should have had
3 or 4 instead of the two we scored. Then, in their first real attack
5 minutes before half time, Pompey scored and everything changed for
the next 35 minutes. They came close twice to equalising in the
second half, both really should have been scored, but we held on to
seal things up with the third goal, closely followed by the fourth
and, in fact, Ruud might have got a fifth late on after a nice little
dribble in the box. Frankly, 2-1 would have been a fairer result.

Admittedly, the dominant Keano did not play in the second half and
that certainly had an effect on our second half performance, but
you'd think the personnel we had out there would have been enough to
dampen a rejuvenated Pompey. Pompey were overawed in the first half
but came back strongly in the second. Thank God we haven't been
dragged darn sarf for a replay.

So, we did what we had to do, win at the first atempt, and now we can
sit back and watch the rest of them squirm.
