The Premiership is out of the question for me. 2nd spot is under increasing pressure from Newcastle who keep winning. We'd really need to win nearly all our remaining games to stand a chance of getting 2nd. With us hitting a brick wall domestically in the past few weeks, I think we will end up 3rd this season again. Looking at the fixtures, I think Arsenal will win the league by about 8-12 points. Onto Europe. In all honesty, does anyone believe we have a squad as good as in 1999? Sure our tactics are a bit better but when things are not going right, do we have the squad of players that can change things. Remember back in 1999 in our last 3 games, all the important goals were scored by substitutes who offered something different to what we had on the pitch. Cole had the pace over the top against Spurs, Teddy the craft against Newcastle, Teddy had the height in the box in Barca. We always hark back to 1999 which was a truely one-off so it is a bit unfair for comparisons I know. We do have a decent squad but it is still lacking in some departments which must be addressed by next season. Saying that, Fergie has spent nearly 100 Million in 2 years and might be potless again by the end of this season. The PLC might be reluctant to splash the cash!
