Fabien will be 32 in June and Rustu the Turk will be 30 in October so he's no spring chicken either though, as a goalie, his shelf-life will be longer than an outfield player's. I thought there were some murmurs and mumbles recently that Fabien wants to return to France in order to bring up his kid in familiar surroundings (you know ... thick garlic clouds, irritable drivers, pungent pissoirs, etc). But does he have a kid? Is he even married, the little scamp? Also, if the rumour is true, then it's hardly a vote of confidence in Carroll or Ricardo's ability to slip effortlessly into that number one jersey. As I understand it, Rustu is in his last season with Fenerbache and so the club may be the ones who want to dispose of him before he disappears on a free. If he's still the Turkish goalie, we might get to see him in action on Wednesday when they meet England. A Scholes hat-trick, Becks' free-kick, and superb Neville overhead kick should end Rustu's chances of ever playing in England. Terry ------------------------ Yahoo!
