Yes, but isn't this the point? I imagine Fergie et al., would be happier if Beckham had just gone on holiday, but going on a promotional tour?! What's all that about? What does he have to promote? I might be wrong here (and probably am, so if anyone can correct me then it would be much appreciated!) but do footballers generally go on self-promotional world tours? It can't be because of Posh's music, because I KNOW that she's got nothing to promote(!), and I can't think of any other footballer who has done this in the past. Certainly, to my knowledge, none of the other United players have ever done this unless they are touring with the Club. I think your statement has shown the irony in all of this - whilst Fergie just takes a holiday, Becks does a world tour. It's as if that statement perfectly encapulates why Beckham is being sold.
