I couldnt agree more...Mark Foulkes I dont know why you question "When was
Ruud been injured" because you are going off the point completely! What I am
trying to say which is exactly what Charlie is also saying is that if we
want to compete with the top teams in the world we are going to need a world
class strike force not just one world class striker! Something people have
pointed out which I am going to point out again is that we had the best
defensive record last season in the league now it doesnt take a rocket
scientist to realise its our strike force that needs more firepower!

And with Beckham gone and Veron's move imminent it seems like our most
creative midfielders are gone / going! And you are worried about defense????
We got: Silvestre, O 'Shea, P Neville, G Neville, Ferdinand, Brown and Keane
and Djemba Djemba have both played in defense before (Djemba Djemba for
Nantes)...my man our problems lie up front!

We cant deny it is definetly a Man Utd revolution and it is a new era but
with the top teams like Arsenal and money spending Chelsea we could be
taking a chance by expecting too much from Djemba Djemba, Bellion and anyne
else that comes after that in their first season!

Also I personally think if Veron goes it will be devastating...with Beckham
gone most people looked to Veron for the free kicks and creativeness in
midfield, if he goes too I think we will need creativness in midfield!
Joauqin is a out and out right winger and not a Veron type player so that is
not gonna change our midfield creativness crisis! My main hope lies on our
youngster and one that I have my eye on is Darren Fletcher...really do think
he is going to be a United regular soon!

So final verdict...if Veron goes we gonna need to sign 3 players...1
defender, 1 creative midfielder and 1 striker! Or else Barthez is going to
have to play up front for us...hehe

Why don't United consider E'to for 15 million pounds as a understudy
for RVN. He is only 22 and already one of the most exciting strikers
in the Spanish league. That will give Fergie a chance to play 4-4-2
with two very powerful forwards, if he wishes to, or a immediate
replacement for RVN when he is rested or injured. Remember that
Soksjaer now needs to cover for the right flank, as well, so we
might be lack of proven poachers on the big occasions. Forlan and
Bellion is well and good for the smaller opponents, but all top
European sides has at least 2-3 top world-class strikers like Real
(which has Ronaldo, Raul, Morieties, Portillo), Juve (Del Pelro, Di
Vaio, Salas), Milan (Inzaghi, Shevchecko, Rivaldo).

Initially, I thought he was transferred to another Spanish club, but
the move apparently broke down. E'to openly claims he wishes to join
the Chelski revolution.

I still hope we can bring in an immediate replacement for Beckham,
although I loved Soksjaer in that role. We need competition in that
area because wingers who plays like Giggs will be injured regularly
for their burst of speed. Veron's departure also looks imminient if
reports are to be believed. Joaquin would be perfect.

In defence, we have six quality and highly versatile defenders -
Rio, O'Shea, Gary, Phil, Silvetre, Wes; 5 of which can play
centrehalf, 3 can play left-back, 3 can play right-back. In terms of
quality and I think although they are not the best yet in Europe,
they are improving fast. Last year, without Blanc, they were much
better. And it was Rio's first year, so he may well improve to be a
Stam this year. I am quite sure that Keane's place in the team will
be a transitional one.. to hand over the reins of the holding
midfield role to the new defensive midfield players and to adapt to
defence. That will add more steel, experience, and no-nonsense
attitude to the defence when required. You can see that Fergie
wasn't chasing a big-time proven defender this summer, but perhaps
only players good enough as stand-ins. That won't improve the team a
lot, so I reckon Keane's adaptation will be immensely important.
