Ronaldinho was impressive for Barca
Barcelona 2-0 AC Milan
Ronaldinho scored one of Barcelona's goals and set up the other as the
Catalan giants continued their impressive pre-season form.
The Brazilian, who chose to move to Barca in preference to Manchester
United last week, laid on an 11th-minute goal for Ricardo Quaresma with a
sublime pass.
He then capped an impressive individual performance by scoring with a
deflected shot in the 51st minute.
Milan had several second-half chances but were thwarted by Barcelona's
agile reserve goalkeeper, Albert Jorquera.
Barcelona came into the match on the back of a 3-2 victory over Italian
champions Juventus and will go into their friendly against Manchester
United in Philadelphia on Sunday in confident mood.
The match is being billed as a grudge match because Barca beat United to
Ronaldinho's signature.
Barcelona took an early lead against Milan in front of 45,864 spectators at
the RFK Stadium in Washington.
Ronaldinho had six players in front of him when he threaded a pass through
to Quaresma.
The Portuguese striker resisted the close attention of Cafu and Alessandro
Nesta to beat goalkeeper Dida with a low right-footed shot.
And Ronaldinho increased the lead early in the second-half.
He took a short pass left from Xavi on the edge of the area before curling
a shot that glanced off Fernando Redondo and inside the left post.
Milan's best chance came in the 75th minute when Christian Brocchi's
right-footed shot was cleared off the line by Carles Puyol.
