OH, BBC CLAIM MAN UTD ARE INTERESTED IN JOE COLE BY THE WAY -----Original Message----- From: Govind, H. (Himal) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, August 01, 2003 10:31 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [Mufc] Fergie: Veron will start season with Manchester United Once again, there's isnt a committed, stern message from Ferguson that Veron isn't going anywhere. If the plan is not to sell him, why not say outright that "he isn't going anywhere" or "we won't sell him at all". Instead we're getting half-hearted statements of praise of Veron's abilities that is probably meant to increase his sale value somewhat. I dont know, I'm just frustrated at the thought of his pending sale, especially to Chelsea who is potentially now a threat to United's ambitions. I'm sure I'm speaking behalf of most people who would feel more comfortable hearing adamant statements from the likes of Ferguson stating outright that he is not for sale and he is not going nowhere. Otherwise, this to me sounds like a repeat of the Beckham saga. cheers Himal -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 01 August 2003 10:11 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Mufc] Fergie: Veron will start season with Manchester United Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson watched Juan Sebastian Veron lead a 4-1 rout of Juventus in the Giants Stadium and again insisted the Argentine would still be at Old Trafford at the start of the season. Veron collected the man of the match honours in front of 79,005 delirious fans, capping a superb United performance with two outstanding assists which led to goals for Paul Scholes and Ruud van Nistelrooy at the start of the second half. And, while Veron continues to be linked with a 15million move to Chelsea, Ferguson maintained his stance that the midfielder is going nowhere. "People keep seeing him on this tour and people still keep saying he is going," said Ferguson. "Unless he is going to be whisked from right under my nose they are wrong. "Seba is a marvellous player. He has wonderful imagination, he always wants the ball and has a great engine. He was outstanding here." ******************** This email and any accompanying attachments may contain confidential and proprietary information.
