I travel to OT from South London and I quite like the early kick off because
although I have to leave at the crack of dawn on a Saturday, I'm home in time
to get a Saturday evening.

I am less amused by late afternoon kick offs or evening kick offs when there
is work the next day. Arsenal at 4 on a Sunday is not good. Villa in the
Cup, at eight on a Sunday or whenever it was, was really taking the piss. And
the moving of matches from Saturday to a Friday or, much worse, a Monday, also
not a happy event for me.

What pisses me off is the constant changing so you can't plan, and the late
decisions, particularly for European matches. Because of the home/away and the
Wednesday/Tuesday I have to set aside 24 entire afternoons in my work diary,
knowing that only one quarter of them (if we do well) will turn out to be home
matches, and the draw is only a few days before the match in several
instances. Obviously nobody can legislate for the uncertainty of getting through or
not, but they could draw the tournament like the World Cup, so at least we'd
have some idea of either/or well in advance. It speaks volumes for my
administrative skills that I have only missed two European matches ever, and one of
those was a family problem.
