You sound as if you have a degree of medical knowledge or at least
experience with this injury, so I'll pose a question (if anyone else
would like to answer, feel free). Medical science progresses all the
time, so are there new techniques (operative or rehabilitative for
example) which make this injury less prone to recur than it was in
Bryan Robson's day (which is getting on for more than 10 years ago
now)? I'm just thinking about knee operations/surgery, for example
where tremendous strides (pun intended) have been made with, for
example, recovery from cruciate ligament and other injuries, which,
in the past ended careers.
