True, we all regarded Kiddo as the one to takeover from Fergie when he was
due to retire, but my choice for Carlos is based purely on his coaching
pedigree he had from his days of coaching the Portuguese U21s to coaching
South Africa (albeit with lesser success). Kiddo's coaching experience cant
really compare with Carlos's in my opinion.
In any case, I believe my choice in Carlos was vindicated by Real Madrid's
eagerness to sign him to be their first team coach.

And you're right, I'm pretty confident that 99% of us will still be faithful
and loyal supporters irrespective of where our destiny lies. I think
everyone's passion for the club is illustrated quite well by their
statements on this list.

I forgot to mention a point. In the face of multi-million pound takeovers -
and I'm sure that Chelsea's takeover wont be the last in the Premiership -
how would we react if, hypothetically speaking, we were faced with a
takeover from a russian billionaire or an Oil Sheik from the middle east?
Just curious to know what people think. I know the BSkyB takeover was
controversial because most fans believed that Murdoch's intentions were
purely for television coverage rather than genuine football investment.
However, Roman Abromovich simply had a spare 300 million quid lying around
and figured why not invest it in a football club?

Should we then shun the advances of a rich tycoon who is willing to invest
millions into United becoming the most powerful club in the world and not
merely for other, dubious intentions? I think that if these takeovers become
a recurring trend, then why not sell the club from a competitiveness point
of view? (but the potential investor should not be someone like Murdoch)

ideas?

You make some excellent points, but I thought that Brian Kidd would make the
ideal replacement for Fergie in the mid 90's and now I can see I was wide of
the mark there.

Who knows, you might be right, it might be the beginning of the end, but
when the club was performing poorly United still had loyal fans & I'm sure
99% of us on this list will still follow regardless of our league position.

And I always felt that Carlos Queiroz would be the
ideal replacement for Fergie one day and United have lost this perfect
replacement
