> Marseille have reached an agreement with English > champions Manchester United to take back their > former goalkeeper Fabien Barthez on loan until June,
I don't think the deal's sealed yet but it looks pretty imminent. I'm not sure how these loan deals are set up, but I hope we aren't as gullible as usual in our desperation to get Fabien off the wages bill. When a club's negotiators see us approaching the table, they don't see a rosy-cheeked bloke in an expensive suit but a plump cow with enormous udders just begging for a good milking. Let's hope there is a clause somewhere in the contract that stipulates that Fabien will return immediately if Howard and Carrol are both out through injury or suspension. If not, we'll find ourselves in a gigantic cow pat of our own making. Right. Enough about cows. Back to sheep. Here's hoping for a good win today against the woolly flock from across the Pennines.
