KEANE - BEST IS YET TO COME Roy Keane has warned the best is still to come from Manchester United despite the champions topping the table after their win at Leeds United. The inspirational Irishman headed an 81st minute winner to sink the home side, but feels the Old Trafford outfit are still not in top gear. "I've had good and bad times against Leeds over the years but it's good today," smiled Keane afterwards. "We always feel, as long as the score is 0-0, with the players we've got, we're going to create one or two chances. "It wasn't a great performance but it was a battling performance and we were solid at the back. "It was always going to be a hard match but, if you want to win championships, you need battling performances and we had that today. "I'm surprised it's our best start for ten years though. I feel we've not got started yet. Hopefully there's plenty more to come from this team. "We always hope to be up there but I don't think we're playing anywhere near our potential. "It always takes a month or two for the lads to get into the swing of things. "We'll just stay focused and we always feel we're going to b in with a chance at the end of the season." As for the goal, Keane joked he had not expected Gary Neville to supply such an accurate centre. "It was an excellent cross by Gary, I was surprised at the quality of it," he laughed. "I think I shut my eyes, sometimes you hit and hope, and it went in for me in the corner." Neville himself admitted he had not aimed for the former Republic of Ireland international. "I'd love to be able to say I saw Roy at the far post but I just put it into an area and I'm delighted he got on the end of it," said the England full back. "I think we created more chances and deserved to win. "I always celebrate our goals. Winning at Leeds is always very difficult. "It's a big atmosphere and we're happy to get that late goal and the three points." www.skysports.com http://www.red11.org/news ------------------------ Yahoo!
