That's what I thought. It's not as bad as removing functions from a
well established & widely used shared library but it more or less
falls into the same category of intelligence.

I thought I presented a good case for reinstating the original value
but you've seen the response from Alfonso :-(

You must know something that I don't. I haven't found the openurl project
at sf.net yet. It would be nice to see it there though.
