Hi everyone,

Not to get too OT but I just wanted to respond to a few points.

1. We had those awlful floor basinettes on both my carriers. Yes,
they suck and you're supposed to take your child out of them in
turbulence. That's such a pleasure for me :/ The FAA kept rejected
designs that my carrier submitted to them and only found one right
before 9/11. Wont be seeing those any time soon!

2. Good point to add to the article. I also got messed around about
the size of the child. Yours' is too big/no he's not, etc. Can't
really say much than to reconfirm the sizing. I can say that Air
France is 10 kilos since I just flew them.

3. Great if you can get a night flight but most of us travelling
internationally don't have that luxury. Returning to Europe, that's
always a night flight and how much easier it is!

4. Great if you can get an upgrade but proceed with caution. Those
business people are quick to complain. Many are going straight to
work on arrival and aren't thrilled with crying babies next to them.
Better to try to get an extra seat in Economy (where the person next
to you is often an airline employee travelling on a pass ;)

5. I prefer not to get into what airline is good, etc. Fly off
season on a half full flight and you're guarenteed to get great
service no matter what. The actual aircraft, the load, where the
crew is based, etc. can also change the situation. Too many
variables. Too many other reasons to pick an airline.

Anyone is welcome to contact me by email directly if you have
anything you want to discuss.

Thanks for reading and the imput.
Sharon
