"Xlib: unexpected async reply" means it crashed. If it would be possible could you run multiync with valgrind (http://developer.kde.org/~sewardj/) - i.e. run "valgrind multisync" - and get the report from valgrind when it crashes?
That report will allow me to pinpoint the problem. Thanks for the help.
