That is IMHO a common problem with phones is that there are A LOT of bugs with the encoding they use to send vCard/iCal data. The only work around I see it adding a "hook" table to specify which encoding to use based on the phone model. This problem is IMHO a bug in the phone that we should try work around in the conduit.
