if ( [ ${EVO_MAJVER} -gt 1 ] || ( [ ${EVO_MAJVER} = 1 ] && [ ${EVO_MINVER} -ge 4 ])); then by saying "./configure: line 4177: 1: command not found" I don't know enough about shell scripts to actually make a portable fix.
