About the badmouthing: I'm really, really sorry! I meant it as a joke to blow off some steam after a hard and full day of futile Evo tweaking, but now that I read it I realize that it came out much harsher than I intended. Sorry about that everybody! I won't be so rude again!
About developing:
I still think that Mozilla Calendar / iCal support would be a great idea for everybody involved. I don't know if I'd be of any use to you guys, but do tell me if you need a hand in implementing this.
Best wishes! /Joel Hedlund

I _almost_ got this to work with MultiSync, just by putting the Mozilla Calendar .ics file in the spot where Ximian Evolution normally puts its calendar file (in ~/evolution/local/Calendar/calendar.ics), and telling MultiSync to synchronize it using the evolution plugin. Almost. I gave up after a few sporadic synchronization successes intersparsed with series of abject faliures. But I think that it would be an easy
Mozilla Calendar kind of lacks the wombat, the Evo plugin will likely want to talk to it.
pull this off, that is) that I could finally throw that bug-ridden catastrophe Ximian Evolution straight in the garbage can, right where it belongs.
Any comments on that, anybody?
How about not mixing advocacy and feature requests and showing some general nicety? It really is a pity that Ximian Evolution does not work (well) for you, but it apparently does for a lot of people (including me). You really could have asked for Mozilla Calendar support without having to badmouth another program (you're free to use whatever works for you, must you question other peoples' choices in the process?) and I can imagine most (potential) developers would be much more favourably inclined towards your request if they did not have to fear to be on the receiving end of your derisive comments if their work fails to match up to your standards.
Just some food for thought...
