Question for the Opie plugin developer. I've been presented with a patch from a user that makes my KDE addressbook plugin work together with the opie plugin. The patch strips the "TYPE=" fields from the outgoing VCards from the KDE plugin. I am loathed to strip "TYPE=" fields from all outgoing VCards like that because I anticipate other plugins/devices will require them.
