I'm getting exactly the same problem... makes the calendar quite difficult to 
use.

The only thing I've found so far is from the 'Questions and Answers' on
http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/multisync.php:

"... Time zones are a problem because we've not yet found a way to deduce what
timezone the PDA is currently using! Any help on this would be most welcome. 
The problem may have something to do with daylight saving too."

Isn't much help, but may shed some light.
