Roxx! ;-)

are there any free groupdav servers i can use to try it?

In theory you can use a fully compliant GroupDAV client against a generic WebDAV server (like Apache WebDAV).

In practice this has two issues:
a) most clients historically have some OGo specific hacks (starting with hard- coded URLs), at least the EDS one has. I'm currently trying to fix that
   for EDS.
b) the vCard implementations are highly incompatible between clients
(Kontact, Evo, Apple) so unless you use just one client, you'll run into
issues here. A "real" server helps a lot as a "negotiator".

That's what I wrote it for. Unfortunately zidestore(the groupdav
plugin) only supports writing if Calendar. Todo an Contacts are read
only. Work in progress I think.

ZideStore support for GroupDAV has improved a lot in the last two weeks (thanks to Noodle). Creation and editing of basic contact data works now and will be completed next week (email/phone/address are not supported yet, but will be soon).

Thanks!
