You can try to set the MULTISYNC_DEBUG environment variable to 1 to get more output to the console.
How are you trying to connect to your Zaurus - FTP or SFTP? If it is FTP did you use the security applet to allow connections from your PC? If it is SFTP did you set up ssh host keys?
