The libxml2 is quite sensitive to faulty UTF-8 encodings. I see in your
output that outport has generated � as the ISO-8859-1 (Western Europe)
coding. How did you input the data from outport? Through the Backup
plugin?

You will have a very limited chance of succeeding without getting the
CVS shapshot of MultiSync -- a lot has been improved there.
