Hi

it would be nice to know which distro you use.

Normally you should have this file (maybe in a different location
depending on your distro):

-rw-r--r--    1 root     root          293 2003-11-04 17:32
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gal-2.0.pc

It is in this package (debian sid):

$ dpkg -S gal-2.0.pc
libgal2.0-dev: /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gal-2.0.pc
