I am trying to maintain sync between a Zaurus, a laptop, and a deskside. I installed this in phases using .8 and apparently got the control data 'out of sync'. All attempts to recover resulted in duplicate and triplicate contact entries.
The release of .81 was an impetus to 'start over'. The data on the Zaurus appeared complete; it was backed up to a flash card. The .multisync and evolution directories on the laptop and deskside were then erased. Evolution was run once on each system and then forced shut down. Next a new sync instance was created between the Zaurus and the laptop and populated with data from the Zaurus. Second a new sync pair was created between the laptop and the deskside. The laptop was configured as the server and the deskside as the client. At that point everything seemed to be opeating correctly.
Next I attemped to enter an event in the laptop and then sync it with the Zaurus. The result was all the contacts in the laptop and the Zaurus were erased. The laptop contact data appears to be in ./evolution/local/Contacts/addressbook.db.
Is this configuration covered?
Should I have configured the deskside as the server?
