I can use Multisync to backup and restore Evolution. I can also backup the phone using Multisync/IRMC, but it will not restore to the phone. Using ircp, I can transfer files from the phone to the computer, but I cannot send files to the phone. I can however send files/events etc from my palm to the phone using IrDA. If I start up Mac OSX, I can use Ericsson Client to transfer files to the phone using IrDA. So the problem appears to be sending data to the phone from linux using IrDA --- it can receive fine.
