It doesn't do this - the port is used as supplied in the plugin
configuration, so if you set the port to whatever your FTP server is
running on it should work, assuming you can log on using the root
password you supplied as well.

I don't have a Zaurus (I run Opie on my iPaq), but I think the answer to
your question is run OpenZaurus. I'm not sure too many people are
running the Sharp ROM with some applications replaced from the Opie
feed, but I don't know for sure.
