Hi, I am trying to sync a P800 with Evolution (plugin one: SyncML, plugin two: Evolution). Pushing entries from the phone to the PC works alright, but the other direction works only sometimes (I successfully added details to one name, but the removal of a trailing dot from a phone number wasn't transmitted). I was entirely unable to get new Evolution address entries to be synced onto the phone. When I tried to change the sync direction to plugin two -> plugin one (in Edit/Filters), because I hoped that might transport the PC data onto the phone, the radiobuttons jumped back to plugin one -> plugin two all the time, and each time I touch these settings I get a log message "Failed to get first plugin changes: Unknown error"
I suspect this error message is because the P800 doesn't offer a SyncML server, it has a client that has to be invoked on the phone. So you can't pull the changes from the phone by initiative of Multisync, as far as I understand. When I try to change the Sync direction, the debug output looks like this: ,---- | ~ $export MULTISYNC_DEBUG=1 | ~ $multisync | Trying /usr/lib/multisync/libbackup_plugin.so... | Plugin found: Backup | Trying /usr/lib/multisync/libevolution_sync.so... | Detected evolution 1.4.5. | Plugin found: Ximian Evolution | Trying /usr/lib/multisync/libsyncml_plugin.so... | Plugin found: SyncML | Found pair: syncml-plugin - evolution-sync | SyncML: Resetting state. | SyncML: Socket opened. | Calendar loading `/home/mbelow/evolution/local/Calendar/calendar.ics'... | Calendar loading `/home/mbelow/evolution/local/Tasks/tasks.ics'... | Get view done. | Get changes done. | New DBs: 0 | SyncML: Get changes, mode 0 | Waiting for change... | Got message 7 | Syncthread: Exiting. | SyncML: Got engine cmd: 5 | Disconnecting view... | Disconnecting ebook... | Disconnecting addressbook done. | SyncML: Resetting state. | SyncML: Socket opened. | Calendar loading `/home/mbelow/evolution/local/Calendar/calendar.ics'... | Calendar loading `/home/mbelow/evolution/local/Tasks/tasks.ics'... | Get view done. | Get changes done. | New DBs: 0 | SyncML: Get changes, mode 0 | Waiting for change... `---- I am using the multisync_0.82.cvs20040322-1 Debian package. Anyway, thank you for your work!
