You might want to work with them, since they already have some
code that does this, and the format is pretty well-known (very basic
iCalendar stuff).
I've been talking with them for about 2 years about this exact
issue, and have come up with some solutions, back when Mozilla Calendar
was still part of the OeOne product/projects. It should be very simple to
do: read their .ics in $HOME/$MOZUSERPATH (CalendarDataFile.ics), and
parse it for events, and then roll that back into something the Palm can
digest.
Hopefully with 0.12.1 of pilot-link, I will be adding the ability
to read and parse these files directly into and out of the Datebook
(though not Calendar, not just yet.. Palm Calendar has a completely
different format than Palm Datebook; similar for Palm AddressBook vs. Palm
Contacts).
