well I have just checked out the 08X branch from cvs and compiled multisync 0.8.2 from scratch, but I get the same error upon syncing with the Opie plugin.
I did
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/multisync co -r branch_08X multisync
That should be correct isn�t it?

You are running from the wrong CVS branch. Check out branch_08X - this fix is there, and the 08X branch is where the stable Multisync releases will continue to come from.
