I did some investigation regarding the r380 and while it is not really going to help your situation, you (and others) might find this informative: The R380 is a totally different breed of phone when compared to the R320, R520, T28 and so on. All the PIM functionality is provided by the EPOC part of the phone (it is more or less a PSION PDA) and thus incompatible to Multisync which relies on IrMC for interacting with phones. There are some tools for linux that support syncing with psion organizers (completely unrelated to multisync as they predate it by quite some time), all of which are, to my knowledge, currently unmaintained. Unfortunately, none of these tools support the R380 because a) By default the phone behaves like a modem and needs to be sent a special AT command to switch to Epoc/Psion mode -- none of the software provides for that. b) The protocol is apparently a bit different, though only marginally. There is protocol documentation available, however. So, what it boils down to is: R380 support is possible, but someone needs to do it, first by updating e.g. plptools to include r380 support and then integrating it with multisync by writing an appropriate plugin. Anyone interested might want to start at http://plptools.sourceforge.net/ My R380 is now in the possession of my parents, so if somebody tackles this job and would like someone to do some testing, I'd be happy to lend a hand.
