Hmm - this does sound like a showstopper to me. Even if syncing 
is cheap (volume wise) there is still the problem that you have 
to connect phone and desktop through the big bad internet.

And (worst case) 1 GB of GPRS traffic costs me ~5000 EUR.

How does apple do it with isync? (BTW isync doesn't work
correctly with the S65 - German umlauts show up on the  mac
as garbage).

I have googled a little. It seems that the phone/net-providers don't
want you to have a direct net-connection via bluetooth - there are
some howtos on how to work around provider/phone-restrictions and
still set up a pppd on a linux-machine and connect to it via bluetooth
but they're all nokia specific.
