Hello folks, I'm running Ubuntu Warty (Kernel 2.6.8.1) on a PowerPC iBook along with gnubox (1.0) on a Nokia 6600 and PPP 2.4.2 on the GNU/Linux system.
I've successfully installed and configured gnubox on my Nokia 6600 (Firmware version 5.27.0) as specified on Klaus Penzer's online tutorial. The PPP connection comes up quite well on each "echo x >/dev/rfcomm3" but times out after maximal 2 or 3 minutes (Variable) returning this kernel error message in the syslog: Nov 14 22:19:10 localhost kernel: divert: no divert_blk to free, ppp0 not ethernet Once timed out the connection goes down, I can't reach the Nokia 6600 anymore and I have to turn the mobile phone off and on again in order to be able to establish a new PPP->gnubox connection. I gave taken a look at the Data Call Timeout Settings on my Nokia 6600 but there I have 5 min so the 2-3 min timeout remains a mistery for me. At this point I would like to ask if someone had my same troubles and solved them successfully? Once my PPP connection is stable to the Nokia 6600 I can think about setting up multisync which I have already compiled successfully on my PowerPC machine. Thanks in advantage for feedback.
